This project consisted of thinking about the functions of a shed. We were to think of different occupations that a shed could have. I chose to design a shed that was for counselling. I looked for inspiration by looking at japansese culture and the techniques that they use to relax. They believe in balance like the ying yang symbol. This is what inspired the shape of the final design, it is a tear drop shape like half the symbol. If I had had more time on the project I would have designed the garden to be like the other half of the symbol therefore creating balance. The shed would be made from wood, frosted glass and roof tiles. The interior would have wooden flooring and soft natural coloured furnishings. Fom the visuals you can see the layout of the furniture and colours that I have implied. The roof comes to one point, this is so the water will run down the roof and then can be channeled to run down the frosted glass. I opted for this technique as people find the sound of running water calming. I would also put in place thick curtains so that in extemly bad weather the sound can be drowned out.
To create the visuals that you see below I used 3d Viz and photoshop. I found it really good to use and created effective visuals. I realy enjoyed this project and I found it a great learning curve to use the computer more.
